123 Reliance Industries Boosts Clean Energy with ₹100 Crore Investment in Biogas Feedstock Development

Reliance Industries (RIL) has decided to fund around ₹100 crore for a project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The investment will be towards the development of 11 varieties of grass species which can be used as feedstock for the production of compressed biogas. RIL is likely to sign an agreement with the ICAR's Jhansi-based Indian Grassland & Fodder Research Institute (IGFRI). The project will be for a period of five years and about ₹85 crore (excluding GST) will be pumped in by RIL.
