As Delhi prepares for the swearing-in ceremony of its new Chief Minister on February 20, massive security arrangements are being made. Over 25,000 security personnel, including 5,000 policemen and 10 companies of paramilitary forces, will be deployed at Ramlila Maidan. Special forces such as commandos, SWAT, and quick reaction teams will be deployed at more than 2,500 strategic locations. Snipers will be deployed on rooftops to offer protection to dignitaries and visitors. Multiple layers of barricades will be set up to manage crowd flow and secure the event venue. First-aid kiosks and emergency response stations are also being set up. The event is likely to be attended by a huge crowd, comprising prominent BJP leaders and other chief ministers, as a major political spectacle after the BJP's recent win in elections.
