At World Economic Forum 2025, a substantial $1 billion pledge was made to support climate adaption projects in Africa. The goal of this investment, spearheaded by CRDB Bank Group, is to increase private sector participation in climate resilience initiatives throughout the continent. The Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP), of which the project is a part, aims to raise at least $5 billion in private investment over the course of the upcoming year. The Global Centre on Adaptation's CEO, Professor Patrick V. Verkooijen, stressed how urgent it is to adapt to climate change, especially in areas that depend heavily on agriculture. It is anticipated that this partnership-driven strategy would address the urgent issues brought on by climate change and promote sustainable growth and innovation, ultimately helping African businesses and people.
