New Zealand spoiled Pakistan's historical return as the host of ICC events with a thumping 60-run victory in the opener of Champions Trophy 2025. New Zealand's Tom Latham hit 118* while Will Young chipped in 107, sending the Kiwis to an impressive 320/5. With Khushdil Shah hitting 69 in vain, Pakistan collapsed under the pressure to limit themselves to just 260 all out. Played at Karachi's National Stadium, the game was Pakistan's first ICC event hosting in 29 years. The beginning of the tournament was marked by a stunning Pakistan Air Force display, which momentarily shocked some of the New Zealand players. Pakistan is now set to play a decisive match against India on February 23 in Dubai.
