The WINGS 2025 activity, a bird counting project formerly known as India BirdRaces, saw over 300 people note 271 bird species in Mumbai and Maharashtra. The activity, held on February 16, challenges people to hunt for birds from dawn to dusk and note down as many species as they can.
This year's activity was centered on the conservation of dwindling grasslands and wetlands. Over 55 birding teams visited locations like Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Karnala Bird Sanctuary, coastal mangrove, and other water bodies. The sightings are logged in eBird to track the distribution and abundance of birds
